The Problem
Any centralization of power over speech is a threat to freedom and civil stability. Speech protections were designed to constrain governments, not private companies, who now wield unprecedented influence over speech. Trust is collapsing because people can’t distinguish legitimate curation from manipulation.

Speech Without Borders is a 501(c)(3) founded by Jesse Katz, who previously worked on infrastructure to enable interoperability and shared network effects across social media. That experience informed this approach of starting with voluntary commitments and building toward structural change.
